Gay & Lesbian Adoptions

We've come a long way, baby!

Many states have granted adoptions to homosexual parents, but 3 in particular actually have laws prohibiting gay and lesbian adoption - Florida, Utah, and Mississippi. You can read more about the Florida gay adoptions ban at www.lethimstay.com.

Eight states and D.C. have granted second-parent adoptions to gay and lesbian couples. Second-parent adoptions allow a second person to adopt the child without the first parent losing any parental rights.
